Resources for Transition Research
We host and maintain various resources to support and enable constructive research partnerships. Many of the activities these represent are now held by ECOLISE.
Mailing List
This list, hosted by JISCMail, receives occasional announcements about TRN activities and allows discussion and networking among researchers and pracitioners interested in Transition Research. It is currently unmoderated and allows all members to post, but traffic is still reasonably low.
Online Bibliography of Research on Transition
In order to make it easier for Transition Initiatives to keep track of research on the Transition movement, as it becomes available, members of the TRN maintain an online database of all research currently available. This database primarily contains peer reviewed literature, including journal articles, along with MA and PhD theses and some grey literature. For the sake of simplicity, entries are restricted to research directly on or about Transition, and do not include literature on related topics (e.g. local food, community energy, local currencies...) that does not directly refer to Transition.
Transition Research Ingredients
A comprehensive set of guidelines, in Pattern Language format, for researchers and practitioners interested in cultivating productive research collaorations. The patterns require in-depth engagement, ideally involving all partners in a research project, in order to assemble the right combination for the specific research collaboration in question. Those requiring a lighter touch might prefer to consult the Transition Research Primer or the research pages on the Transition Network website.
