Memories of Mr Seel's Garden: Past and future food systems in Liverpool
This project ran from February 2012 to January 2013 and was based on the Transition step formerly known as 'Honouring the Elders' and now just referred to as 'Oral History'. Three community groups in Liverpool were trained in oral history techniques and in working with historic documents (archives and old maps). The garden that was the inspiration for the project was on the corner of Seel St and Hanover St in the city centre. There is now a Tesco on the site, but you can see where the garden used to be if you go around the corner and look for the plaque.
We've produced a number of creative and interactive outputs to engage people in Liverpool around these issues. You can find out more about the project here: www.mrseelsgarden.org
The main contact for this project is Michelle Bastian (michelle.bastian[at]ed.ac.uk).
